Implementation

 

Implementation of CPS's pharmacy benefits program requires little time or effort on the part of the client. For most workers’ compensation clients full implementation takes 30-60* days and includes the following:

 

Blue Diamond Retail

Retail (Card)

1.     Census of current short-term patients and assessment of future needs.

2.     Cards sent to employer locations.

3.     Cards handed out at time of injury with set parameters to check fraud and abuse.

Retail (Paperless)

1.     Census of current short-term patients.

2.     Adjuster education on use of paperless retail program.

3.     Turn on of system.

 

Mail Order

1.     Transfer of all long term files - this is accomplished by either disk transfer of files electronically or by CPS going on-site to transfer information manually.

 

2.     Patient and Physician Letters - once all long-term files are transferred, letters instructing the patient and physician on use of CPS are sent.

 

3.     Files closed with previous pharmacy - adjusters are notified of transfer’s completion so files can be closed with current pharmacies.

 

*Larger clients could take longer depending on size and number of locations

 

The client may choose to implement both programs together and/or implement retail or mail order as a stand alone program.
